AURORA, IL — Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin brightened the day of dozens of preschool students by surprising them with stuffed animals Wednesday.
The mayor joined Aurora police officers in distributing hundreds of stuffed dogs, cats, bears, unicorns and dinosaurs as part of an annual giveaway sponsored by PetSmart. Students at the East Aurora Early Childhood Development Center were all cheers, smiles and snuggles upon receiving the surprise, Chief Communications Officer Clayton Muhammad said in a news release.
The students thanked the mayor and police officers as they cuddled their new stuffed pets, Muhammad said.
