Illinois Town Named One Of The Happiest Cities In The Country

Illinois's second-largest city was named the 21st happiest in the country by WalletHub. International Day of Happiness falls on March 20.

AURORA, IL — The second largest city in Illinois, Aurora ranks 21st for "happiest cities in America," according to WalletHub. International Day of Happiness falls on March 20, and WalletHub set out to find which cities are the happiest comparing more than 180 of the largest U.S. cities across 30 key indicators of happiness.

Factors include emotional and physical well-being, income and employment, and community and environment. The report ranks a total of 182 cities, with Fremont, California, reigning in first place.

"For years, researchers studied the science of happiness and found that its key ingredients include a positive mental state, healthy body, strong social connections, job satisfaction and financial well-being," the report reads.
