If passed, the would be a safer intersection at Eola Road and Route 30.

AURORA, IL — Aurora city officials will vote on Tuesday on whether to approve an engineering agreement for the extension of Eola Road to make it intersect with Route 30, the Aurora Beacon News reported. The agreement would be another step towards the project, which costs $1.4 million overall.

The vote for the $193,163 contract with V3 Companies will take place at City Hall at 44 East Downer Pl. The Beacon News said that the idea of the project is to create a safer intersection with Route 30 than the current intersection of Route 30 and Heggs.

If the project goes through, a portion of Heggs near Route 30 would be closed as Eola Road would loop past the school, the Beacon News said.

The funds are available, but the city Aldermen just need to vote to spend it on the project.
