Aurora Opens GAR Memorial Hall for Tours

Tours are free and open to the public.

In celebration of the re-opening of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Memorial Hall and Museum, the City of Aurora is opening the historic treasure for public viewing on an initial limited basis, according to the city.

The first tour opportunity since it reopened on Memorial Day will be during the monthly First Fridays festivities in downtown Aurora on Friday, June 3. The public can take a self-guided tour between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. It will be open during each First Fridays event through November.

In addition, the GAR Memorial Hall and Museum will also be open for public viewing every Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. beginning on Saturday, June 4.
