Aurora Police Officer Retires After Serving Since 2002
During his 20-year career with APD, David Tellner served as a patrol officer and special operations group investigator, among other things.

AURORA, IL — Twenty years after joining the Aurora Police Department, officials announced Officer David Tellner's retirement Sept. 16.
Tellner was first appointed a police officer on Sept. 16, 2002. In his two-decades-long career, he served in various roles: patrol officer, special operations group investigator, and alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives task force officer. On top of that, he was a field training officer, bicycle patrol officer and Aurora Police Department Honor Guard member.
The officer, who served the department "honorably," received several recognitions during his time with APD. He was named co-employee of the month in June 2005, February 2010 and May 2013, officials said.

"We commend Dave for his many years of service to the Aurora Police Department and the citizens of Aurora, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors," officials said.
