All officers will be trained with body cameras starting in January, according to Aurora Police Chief Keith Cross.
AURORA, IL — All Aurora police officers are expected to start wearing body cameras starting in early 2022, according to police officials.
Throughout October, 21 Aurora police officers completed the last body camera tests with the police IT department, Aurora Police Chief Keith Cross said in an Oct. 29 City Council Finance Committee meeting. He also said the IT department and administrators are determining internal procedures ahead of implementing cameras department-wide.
Officers will be trained with the body camera technology starting in January, Cross said, and "should be up and running and equipped early next year."
