'Aurora Strong' Shirts Raise Funds For Shooting Victims' Families

Mayor Richard Irvin said the "Aurora Strong" logo has been downloaded "1000s of times throughout the world" since the tragic shooting.

AURORA, IL — The rallying cry "Aurora Strong" has been heard and seen throughout the city countless times since Friday's devastating shooting claimed the lives of five men, injured a sixth, and wounded five police officers. Mayor Richard Irvin said the "Aurora Strong" logo has been downloaded "1000s of times throughout the world" since it was launched. Now, one of the artists behind the logo has made "Aurora Strong t-shirts available for purchase online, with proceeds going to benefit families of the shooting victims.

The logo was created by City of Aurora graphic designer Chad Jimenez and Aurora graphic designer Sarah Cervantes. Supporters and community members can buy a shirt emblazoned with the "Aurora Strong" logo on Cervantes's Etsy page. Funds will be donated to the Aurora Strong fund, which city officials say will remain open throughout the week. Cervantes said the shirts will also be available in downtown Aurora once online sales have closed.

The Aurora Strong shirts are available for purchase at her Etsy shop, SendMeaDream. Supporters can also opt to get the phrase printed on a coffee mug, hooded shirt, or other products.
