Aurora Truck Driver Cited in Fatal Motorcycle Crash
There were no outward signs of alcohol or drug use at the scene.

AURORA, IL — A 39-year-old Naperville motorcyclist was killed early Wednesday morning after he collided with a semi on Aurora’s Far East Side.
At 6:39 a.m., Aurora police responded to the crash at Commons Drive and Gabrielle Lane in the DuPage County portion of the city. The preliminary investigation indicates that Johnny R. Williams, of the 2800 block of Kilburne Ln. in Naperville, was driving his 2000 Suzuki GX6 southbound on Commons, apparently at a high rate of speed, while a 2002 Volvo Tractor Truck driven by a 49-year-old Aurora man, was turning into the driveway of the U.S. Post Office, located at 3900 Gabrielle, from the northbound left-hand turn lane.
Before the driver of the truck completed his turn, Williams struck the rearmost passenger’s side wheel of the trailer. Williams, who was wearing a helmet, was taken by Aurora Fire Department paramedics to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora and was pronounced dead at 7:18 a.m.
