Aurora Walmart To Launch Drive-Thru Coronavirus Testing Site
The site will conduct tests three days a week for first responders, health care providers and others with coronavirus-related symptoms.
AURORA, IL — Walmart is set to open a drive-thru testing site Friday in the parking lot of its Aurora store, increasing local residents’ access to coronavirus tests as the state looks to begin reopening at the end of the month.
The testing site will operate from 7-9 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for first responders, health care providers and others with coronavirus-related symptoms. People in high risk groups can also access tests, even if they are not showing symptoms, according to a news release. The site will not be open on Memorial Day.

Before being tested, people must visit DoINeedaCOVID19Test.com to see if they are eligible and to set up an appointment, the release states.

All tests at the Aurora Walmart, located at 2900 Kirk Road, will be self-administered nasal swabs. A medical volunteer will watch to ensure the test is conducted properly. People who want to be tested must wear a mask while verifying their eligibility and identity. Workers will not conduct any tests for people who walk to the drive-thru site, the release states.

Test samples will be processed by eTrueNorth, which will communicate results to those who were tested and public health officials, the release states.
