Aurora Winter Coat Drive Looks To 'Make Bigger Impact' In Second Year

AURORA, IL — The second annual Aurora Winter Coat Drive is underway, and organizers are hoping to "expand and make a bigger impact" this year.

The fundraiser, which started Monday and runs through Friday, is hosted by Alive Aurora and State Rep. Barbara Hernandez. Some of the gently used items needed include coats, hats, gloves, socks, mittens, snow pants and snow boots.

"We were founded on the belief that people should not be left to the elements and that they deserve winter clothing to protect them from the cold," organizers said in a Facebook post.

The three drop-off locations are:

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday

Alive Aurora
78 S. LaSalle St., Aurora
1-6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday

7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday
