AURORA, IL — The artist behind '80s hit "Jesse's Girl" is slated to perform at Aurora's RiverEdge Park this summer, officials announced Monday.

Grammy Award-winning rocker Rick Springfield will bring his pop sound to the downtown stage Aug. 31 for the "I Want My 80s Tour."

Further throwing it back four decades ago, the Australian native will be joined by The Hooters, Paul Young and Tommy Tutone on the tour. The bands will kick off the tour Aug. 4 in Youngstown, Ohio, and end it Sept. 16 in Fresno, California.

"What more could you ask for!" Springfield said, according to Ultimate Classic Rock. "Besides, you know, world peace, freedom from hunger and healing the earth of course. Admittedly they are the bigger stars but come along anyway. We will rock you and maybe save the world as a byproduct. Onward and upward!"

The concert is set to start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets to the tour will go on sale at 10 a.m. May 5. All tickets are general admission and cost $39.
