Banana Split Ice Cream Parlor Reopens Following Winter Hiatus
I scream, you scream, Aurora screams for Banana Split ice cream — which just opened for its 39th year in business at the end of February.

AURORA, IL — It's time to once more scream for ice cream. Aurora's old-fashioned ice cream parlor, Banana Split, has reopened its doors to customers Feb. 25 following a winter hiatus.
As the shop's slogan goes, "treat yourself to deliciousness." And deliciousness certainly is bountiful at Banana Split. Co-owners Randy and Lisa Brown's parlor features a variety of treats, from shakes, malts and sundaes to smoothies, slushies and frozen yogurt.
Banana splits, of course, are on the menu too.

The business, celebrating 39 years in 2022, also sells pints of handcrafted, micro-batch premium ice cream, which pair great with the shop's made-on-site waffle cones and bowls, brownies and cookies.
"Old-fashioned banana split is our specialty, but we also have soft ice cream and frozen yogurt in a wide variety of delicious creations," Randy said in a statement. "Our soft serve is 95 percent fat-free and only 37 calories per ounce."
