Boy Shot In Targeted Attack: Aurora Police

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call investigators.

AURORA, IL — A boy was shot early Sunday morning in what Aurora police believe was a targeted attack, according to authorities.

Officers responded around 2:15 a.m. to a reported shooting in the 300 block of Sunset Avenue and found the victim, described by police as a male juvenile, suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body, authorities said. The boy was taken to a hospital in stable condition and later released, according to police.

“Based on preliminary information, the incident appears to have been targeted, and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the broader community,” police said in a news release.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call investigators at 630-256-5500, according to police. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000 or www.p3tips.com/135, police said. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of felony offenders and the capture of felony fugitives, according to police.
