Cars Strike Utility Pole, Traffic Signal In Eola Road, Ogden Avenue Crash: Police

The Tuesday morning crash caused "significant damage," police said.

AURORA, IL — Two drivers caused "significant damage" after one car crashed into a utility pole and the other a traffic signal Tuesday morning at the intersection of Eola Road and Ogden Avenue, according to police.

The crash that occurred at about 9:45 a.m. involved a white SUV and a black SUV. One driver was hospitalized to be evaluated for minor injuries, spokesperson Jim Levicki told Patch.

Levicki was not able to say what caused the crash or if any citations were issued.

Eastbound Ogden Avenue was shut down at Fox Valley Drive due to debris, damage to the traffic signal and crews working to clear the scene and coordinate repairs with utility contractors. Traffic was gradually reduced to one lane before the intersection fully reopened at 10:42 a.m.
