Caught On Camera: Ex-Employee Burglarizes Restaurant, Cops Say

Two Aurora men were arrested in connection with the burglary.

OSWEGO, IL — Two Aurora men have been arrested in connection with a late-night restaurant burglary that was caught on surveillance camera, Oswego police said. Employees at the eatery, located in the 2300 block of Route 34, arrived just after 6 a.m. Tuesday to find a broken window and two empty cash registers.

Police said surveillance cameras captured the suspect entering the restaurant at around 11:50 p.m. Monday. The suspect in the video matched the description of a recent former employee of the restaurant, identified as Katrone M. Shepherd, 19, of Aurora.

Detectives tracked Shepherd down after he showed up at the restaurant to return employee property on Tuesday afternoon, police said. After an interview with detectives, Shepherd was arrested on one count of burglary and one count of criminal damage to property and taken to the Kendall County jail.
