The Chicago Street Pub And Social Capital

WHAT IS SOCIAL CAPITAL?

Author and Professor David Masciotra will discuss what Social Capital looks like in action, and use Joliet's own Chicago St. Pub as a perfect example.

The Chicago St. Pub, because of its emphasis on local community and artistry, has become a generator of friendships and connection. The bar serves this purpose, in general, throughout America, when done right. It is what sociologists call the "Third Place" - not home, not work, but a place where people feel welcome and at home.
