Chocolate Festival, Worship: Aurora Church To Host Fat Sunday
New England Congregational Church will celebrate "Fat Sunday," the last Sunday before Lent, with a worship service and chocolate festival.
AURORA, IL — Good Friday falls on April 15 this year, which means for people who celebrate, 40 days of Lent officially begin on March 2. To celebrate the last Sunday before fasting begins, New England Congregational Church in Aurora will host a chocolate festival along with its worship service Feb. 27.
"This is one of a few events that are designed to help provide fun activities for our congregation to enjoy," Kimberly Adams, church community life director, said in a statement.
The worship service will start at 10 a.m. at the church, 406 W. Galena Boulevard, and be followed by the annual chocolate festival, taking place in the church narthex. As part of the fun, attendees will receive a goodie bag of assorted chocolates that are individually wrapped.
