The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi inducts new members from Aurora
The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

- Makenna Black of Aurora (60504) at Purdue University
- Kristine Doligosa of Aurora (60503) at Northern Illinois University
- Hayley Neiling of Aurora (60504) at Northern Illinois University
They are among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Aurora student among others elected to Augustana College’s Student Government Association
Twenty Augustana College students were elected to the college's Student Government Association (SGA) for the 2023-2024 academic year.
The 2023-2024 SGA senate includes Alexis Osei-Kofi, a Public Health major from Aurora (60503). She will serve as Senior Class Senator.

Student from Aurora named to president’s list at Bob Jones University
Zachary Weiss, a Junior Engineering major from Aurora, was among over 650 Bob Jones University students named to the Spring 2023 President's List.
The President's List recognizes students who earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average for the semester.

Aurora student named chancellor's scholar at Nebraska
Lauren Elizabeth Lintner of Aurora is among a record 94 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students who will be recognized as Chancellor's Scholars during the undergraduate commencement ceremony May 20 at Memorial Stadium.
Lintner is a psychology major in the College of Arts and Sciences. Parent is Michele Lintner.
Chancellor's Scholars are students who have maintained 4.0 grade-point averages on all collegiate work at Nebraska and elsewhere.

Local student named to dean’s list at Bob Jones University
Andrew Weiss, a Senior Music major from Aurora, was among approximately 800 Bob Jones University students named to the Spring 2023 Dean's List.
The Dean's List recognizes students who earn a 3.00-3.74 grade point average during the semester.

Aurora student initiated into Omicron Delta Kappa
Emma Pilmer, a native of Aurora, was recently initiated into the Augustana College Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society. The Society welcomed 1,869 new initiates from 78 universities during April 2023.
Students initiated into the Society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate/professional students in the top 35% of their class, demonstrate leadership experience in at least one of the five pillars, and embrace the ODK ideals. Fewer than five percent of students on campus are invited to join each year.

Spring 2023 dean's list at Olivet Nazarene University
To qualify for inclusion on the Dean's List, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.
