Aurora students graduate from Georgia Institute of Technology

The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to more than 4,500 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute's 262nd Commencement exercises May 6-7, 2022, at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Among the graduates were:

Aurora native named to Southeast's dean's list

Madison Sniegowski of Aurora, IL, has been named to the Southeast Missouri State University Dean's List for academic achievement during the spring 2022 semester.

Students named to the list earned at least a 3.75-grade point average on a 4.0 scale, completed at least 12 hours of standard graded credit, achieved no grade below a B and received no failing grades in enrolled, credit/no credit or pass/fail courses.

Aurora student named to Youngstown State University dean’s list

Jessica St. Laurent of Aurora, Illinois, majoring in Pre-Dental Hygiene, has been named to the Dean's List at Youngstown State University for Spring Semester 2022.

Dean's List recognition is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who have earned at least a 3.4-grade point average for not less than 12 semester hours of credit in the Fall semester.

Dean's List honors are earned by undergraduate students who carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher on the 4.0 scale. The following students are named to the Spring 2022 Dean's List:

Aurora students among University of Tampa grads

The University of Tampa hosted a commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 7 to honor the 1,713 degree-seeking candidates at the University's 154th commencement. The event was attended by the students, their family members and friends, UT faculty and staff members, and the general public. The ceremony included remarks by alumni and brothers, Javier Baldor '89, CEO of BST Global, and Carlos Baldor '87, president and chief technology officer of BST Global.

The following local students graduated from The University of Tampa.

Local student makes University of Utah dean’s list

Grant Michael Coulson, of Aurora, IL, was named to the University of Utah's Spring 2022 Dean's List.

Coulson, whose major is listed as Economics BS, was among more than 8,900 students named to the Spring 2022 Dean's List at the U. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher in at least 12 graded credit hours during any one term.

The University of Tampa has honored 1,912 students who were named to the dean's list for the Fall 2020 semester. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the dean's list.

Pranav Selvan of Aurora was among the 45 students who received a master of biomedical sciences degree from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine at a commencement ceremony held June 25.

Lily Cooper among 43 selected for Nebraska Business Honors Academy

Lily Cooper, of Aurora, a recent graduate of Rosary, is among 43 incoming first-year students selected to join the Nebraska Business Honors Academy at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln this fall. Comprising the academy's 10th cohort, the students hail from six U.S. states and 13 Nebraska communities.

Cooper intends to major in supply chain management.

To be eligible for this honor, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours during the semester with a grade point average of at least 3.5 and with no "D" or "F" grades.
