Local students make Bradley University's spring 2022 dean's list

More than 1700 students were named to Bradley's Dean's List for Spring 2022. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester on a 4.0 scale.

Aurora student inducted into Phi Kappa Phi

Lourdes Contreras of Aurora, Illinois, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Contreras was initiated at Northern Illinois University.

Contreras is among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Aurora students named to Milwaukee School of Engineering dean’s list

Milwaukee School of Engineering congratulates students named to the Spring Quarter 2022 Dean's List.

  • Fahim Mahmood of Aurora (60503), who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Nghi Pham of Aurora (60506), who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in User Experience
  • Christina Faulkner of Aurora (60506), who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Jackson Bukala of Aurora (60504), who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

Undergraduate students who have earned at least 30 credits and have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher (out of 4.0) are on the Dean's List. Students who have maintained a 3.70 or higher receive "high honors."

Aurora native graduates from Ripon College

Ripon College held its 2022 Commencement Ceremony on May 16 to celebrate its graduating class.

Among the College's graduating class of 2022 is Cameron Zimmerman of Aurora, Illinois. Zimmerman majored in Chemistry.

Aurora students graduate from Elmhurst University

In an atmosphere that was festive despite gray skies and some afternoon rain, Elmhurst University held its 151st Commencement for the Class of 2022. On Saturday, May 21, nearly 850 undergraduate and graduate students took part in the three ceremonies held throughout the day, out of more than 1,000 Elmhurst students who earned degrees. The following local students earned degrees:

  • Jamie Nicole Haas, of Aurora (60503), graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Communication Studies.
  • Taylor Catherine Harazin, of Aurora (60504), graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management.
  • Sophia Ann Zaras, of Aurora (60504), graduated with a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

The commencements marked the official end to the University's yearlong sesquicentennial celebrations, and "the first day of our next 150 years," President Troy D. VanAken said.

Ryan Zaprzal of Aurora, IL (60503), has received the following degree from The University of Alabama: Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Business Administration. UA awarded 5,907 degrees during its spring commencement ceremonies on May 6-8, 2022.

These are the students who made the Dean's List at Monmouth College for the Spring 2022 semester. To make the Dean's List, students need to have taken at least 3.0 academic credits and attained a GPA for those courses of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.

Cedarville University student Adelynn Tregay of Aurora, IL, majoring in Music Education-Multi-Age, was named to the Dean's List at Cedarville University for spring 2022. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.5 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Aurora students among Colorado College Class of 2022

The following local students graduated from Colorado College on May 22, 2022.

  • Caroline Brose, of Aurora, IL, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Organismal Biology and Ecology . Brose is a member of the Colorado College Class of 2022.
  • Sara Dixon, of Aurora, IL, graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science . Dixon is a member of the Colorado College Class of 2022.

Colorado College celebrated the Class of 2022 at an in-person Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 22, awarding 500 Bachelor of Arts degrees and 13 Master of Arts in Teaching. The ceremony marked CC's 148th academic year, with former Margaret A. Liu, '77 giving the Commencement address.
