Aurora students make dean’s list at Furman University

Many congratulations on qualifying for Dean’s List in the spring 2023 semester, an accomplishment that points to your many academic talents. This honor is awarded to full-time undergraduates who earn a grade point average of at least 3.4 during the university’s fall and spring semesters. This fall’s Dean’s list students represent 38 states and 18 foreign countries.

Spring 2023 graduates announced at The University of Alabama

Some 5,885 degrees will be awarded during The University of Alabama's spring 2023 commencement at Coleman Coliseum. A recent economic analysis found that a degree from The University of Alabama can pay more over time than investments in U.S. stock market indexes. The University provides numerous opportunities for service and growth through its educational, social and cultural experiences.

Aurora student earns semester honors at Edgewood College

Evelyn Taylor of Aurora has earned Semester Honors for the Spring 2023 semester at Edgewood College. Fulltime students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average for the semester are eligible for this honor.

Aurora student named to Central College dean's list

Taylor Wyeth, Central College Class of 2024 from Aurora, has been named to the dean's list for the Spring 2023 semester.

The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking 12 or more graded credit hours for the semester.

Local student initiated into Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi

Niyati Sojitra of Aurora, Illinois, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Sojitra was initiated at DePaul University.

Sojitra is among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Millikin celebrates new graduates at the 2023 Spring Commencement

Millikin honored 338 graduates with two in-person Commencement Ceremonies at Kirkland Fine Arts Center on May 21, 2023. The first Commencement Ceremony recognized graduates from the College of Professional Studies and the College of Arts & Sciences. The second ceremony recognized graduates from the Tabor School of Business and the College of Fine Arts.

• Elizabeth Nold from Aurora graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.M. in Music Education - Vocal.

Undergraduate students who have earned at least 30 credits and have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher (out of 4.0) are on the Dean's List. Students who have maintained a 3.70 or higher receive "high honors."
