AURORA, IL — The Kane County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a man who was found dead after he sustained a gunshot wound and crashed his car into a fence near the intersection of Beckwith Street and Dearborn Avenue. Police say Salvatore Sciascia, 19, was fatally shot before the Jan. 5 crash. After an autopsy, Sciascia's preliminary cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the chest. Toxicology samples are currently pending. Sciascia's death is currently being investigated by the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force and the Kane County Coroner's Office. Anyone with information is urged to call the Kane County Sheriff's Office at 630-232-6840.
