AURORA, IL — One good thing came out of Monday's winter weather: Aurora police used footprints in the snow to capture a would-be burglar Tuesday. Police caught the teen inside a home in Montgomery after a resident reported seeing suspect a suspect jumping fences into backyards near Lebanon St. and Melrose Ave.

Police say it was the caller's information that led them to find the incriminating footprints in the snow at about 11 a.m. Officers traced the footprints, which led to an open window in the rear of a home in the 1200 block of Lebanon in Montgomery.

Aurora Police say several units, including K-9 units, posted up around the house. The loud barking of K-9 officer Kato led a 16-year-old boy to looked out of one of the windows. Officers later discovered the boy did not live in the home.
