Coronavirus in Aurora: 126 New Cases In 3 Days
Despite the large jump in confirmed cases of the coronavirus, the city's death toll still stands at seven, according to officials.
AURORA, IL — The number of people in Aurora who have the new coronavirus grew by more than 40 percent in just three days, but no deaths were linked to the virus over that period, according to city officials. As of Wednesday night, the city of Aurora had 428 confirmed cases, up from 302 cases reported Monday. Despite the large jump in confirmed cases of the coronavirus, the city’s death toll still stands at seven.
Aurora officials reported 28 new cases Monday, 40 cases Wednesday and 58 cases Thursday. The 58 cases announced Thursday are the most in a single day in the city since the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Aurora accounts for more than a third of Kane County’s 902 cases, with 367 people in the Kane County portion of the city confirmed to have the virus, as of Thursday. The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the county has doubled since April 13, when health officials announced 450 total cases, Kane County Health Department data shows.
