Coronavirus Testing Site At Premium Outlets To Reopen Wednesday
State officials closed all community-based testing sites after protests and looting over the weekend in a number of cities.
AURORA, IL — The drive-thru coronavirus testing site at the Chicago Premium Outlets is set to reopen Wednesday morning after being closed down for the first two days of the week. State officials closed all community-based testing sites on Monday and Tuesday after large protests and looting over the weekend in a number of cities, including Aurora.
Hundreds of protesters demonstrated Sunday afternoon at the edge of the Chicago Premium Outlets parking lot, where they were met by more than a dozen police officers with riot gear and shields.
Using a bullhorn, officers told protesters their demonstrations had "been deemed unlawful" and threatened to arrest anyone who didn't "disperse immediately." A window of a mall security vehicle was smashed, but there appeared to be no injuries during the short demonstration outside the mall.
