‘Criminal Matter’ Under Investigation At Mitchell Road, Aurora Avenue: PD

AURORA, IL — A large police presence is investigating a “criminal matter” Monday afternoon near Aurora Avenue and Mitchell Road, according to an alert shared just before 5 p.m.

Aurora Avenue is closed between East Indian Trail Road and Hankes Avenue as a result.

Officials said there is no ongoing threat to the community.

“We are asking the public to stay clear of the immediate area and use alternate routes as officers continue their investigation,” police said in the alert.

Police said they will share updates as they become available.
