D131 Educators Honored At Kane County Educator Of The Year Awards

AURORA, IL — East Aurora School District 131 proudly joined school communities from across the region to celebrate excellence in education at the annual Kane County Educator of the Year Awards, hosted by the Kane County Regional Office of Education. This prestigious event recognizes educators who go above and beyond to inspire students, lead with purpose, and make a lasting difference in their schools and communities.
The celebration culminated at the Educator of the Year Awards Banquet on May 1, where nominees were honored for their dedication and impact. Among those recognized was Simmons Middle School teacher Lisa Conte, whose passion for teaching and unwavering support for her students earned her well-deserved recognition.

Conte’s classroom is a place where students feel encouraged, valued, and motivated to achieve their best. Her influence extends far beyond academics, helping shape confident, capable learners prepared for future success.
District leaders, including members of the Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Robert Halverson, attended the banquet to show their support and celebrate the incredible contributions of all D131 educators.

“We are incredibly proud of all our nominees,” said Dr. Halverson. “Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to our students exemplify the very best of East Aurora.”
In addition to Lisa Conte, the district proudly recognized the following nominees:

- Griselda Salmeron – Brady Elementary School
- Kristin Doucette – East Aurora High School
- Joseph Nitti – Gates Elementary School
- Yanil Delgado – Oak Park Elementary School
- Kathleen Hayes – Allen Elementary School
