Delays Expected as Construction Gets Under Way on Prairie Street

Construction will begin this week on Prairie Street between Lake Street and River Street in Aurora.

The storm sewer replacement project will require Prairie Street to be closed to thru-traffic on that block, according to a city of Aurora news release.

Signs were installed in the area last week to notify motorists of the impending closure. Marked detour routes will be in place at the beginning of construction. Delays are expected and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Weather permitting, construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month.
