Driver Ticketed Following Galena Boulevard Crash
The two-vehicle crash occurred at Galena and Locust Thursday morning.

AURORA, IL - A 24-year-old Sugar Grove woman was ticketed after police said she ran a red light and caused a crash Thursday morning in Aurora.
The crash occurred at about 8:10 a.m. at the intersection of Galena and Locust when a 2012 Chevy 4SC pickup truck drove through a red light while heading south on Locust. The pickup truck, which was driven by Christine Vargas, 35, of the 200 block of Maple Street in Sugar Grove, was t-boned by a 2013 KIA Hatchback, which had been headed east on Galena, according to the news release.
Vargas was taken to an Aurora hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Hatchback, a 24-year-old Romeoville man, refused medical attention at the scene, according to the news release.

The force of the crash sent the pickup truck into a utility pole, which lead to power outages in the area. ComEd was called to the seen to fix the utility pole and Galena Boulevard was closed between Highland and Lake for 2.5 hours, according to the news release.
Vargas was ticketed for disobeying a traffic signal and driving on a revoked license.
