East Aurora Dean's Assistant Found Dead At Indianapolis Speedway

Police say he was found dead in a tent a day after the race.

AURORA, IL ---The dean's assistant from East Aurora High School has been found dead in Indianapolis, according to reports. The body of 38-year-old Adam Melchi was found in a tent at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, ABC 7 reports.

The discovery was made just a day after the annual Indy 500 race.

Officials from East Aurora High School released a statement in an open letter to students, parents, and staff. Principal Marina Kosek said, "[Melchi] brought a strong work ethic to school each day, and the students and staff loved to be in his company. He worked with our student council and many of our sports teams as the voice of the Tomcats at home games. The entire Tomcat family mourns this loss.”
