On August 2, East Aurora High School hosted some special guests, as Governor J.B. Pritzker, Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, and several state leaders—including Tomcat and State Representative of the 83rd District Barbara Hernandez, were on hand for a ceremonial bill signing. EASD 131 Board of Education President Annette Johnson warmly welcomed those in attendance and introduced Governor J.B. Pritzker. Among many items, Illinois Way Forward (SB 667), ensures that local and state law enforcement do not stray from the areas within their legal authority and responsibility, and draws a clear line between local law enforcement and civil immigration enforcement.
