Professional educators, you belong here! The East Aurora School District 131 Human Resources department announces a major initiative to recruit and hire bilingual teachers and substitute teachers.

Bilingual Teachers

Be a part of our success story, and reach your full potential by joining our team! East Aurora School District 131 is hiring bilingual teachers to serve our growing language acquisition programs, which include our dual language programs, for the 2022-23 school year and beyond. We are adding 30 bilingual teachers to our staff and offer an extremely attractive salary and benefits package.

For new bilingual teachers, we offer competitive salary ranges per year, depending on the level of education. Also, bilingual educators will receive a $9,000 sign-on bonus and may also qualify for an additional $5,000 relocation bonus.

Substitute Teachers

There’s never been a better time to work for EASD 131 as a substitute teacher. In September 2021, the daily pay rate for substitute teachers was increased to $150 per day, and a bachelor’s degree or higher in any field of study is accepted.

To work as a substitute teacher, the applicant must:

Complete the registration process for Kane County, as you must be properly registered in the county you plan to work within the state of Illinois. See more information at https://kaneroe.org/licensure/.

Short-Term Substitute Teachers

We have an additional opportunity for hiring substitutes who have an associate’s degree or at least 60 semester hours of coursework. Short-term substitutes provide the district with a larger pool of substitutes from now until June 30, 2023, when this nonrenewable license expires.  

To work as a short term substitute teacher, the applicant must:
