Elderly Woman Kidnapped By Home Invader; Aurora Man Charged: Cops
Police say the man broke in, kidnapped the woman, forced her to withdraw cash, and then stole her car.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A suspect is in custody after he allegedly kidnapped an elderly woman and stole her car after breaking into her home in unincorporated Naperville Friday. Police have charged Thaddeus A. Jones Jr., 21, in connection with the incident.
According to police, Jones allegedly broke into the woman's home around 7 a.m., kidnapped her and forced her to withdraw cash from her nearby bank. Police say the woman was able to break free when she and the suspect returned from the bank, but that Jones then stole her vehicle and fled.
Police say the stolen vehicle was later found at a motel in Naperville. According to police, they located Jones at the motel, but he allegedly tried to evade them.

After Jones was arrested, DuPage County Undersheriff Frank Bibbiano praised Naperville Police Department for their help and said, “I am repulsed that this suspect had such a lack of basic human care for another member of our community and I hope the full weight of the judicial system is brought upon him.”
Jones faces multiple felony charges, including home invasion, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He is currently being held in DuPage County Jail on $1.5 million bond.

He is set to appear in court on April 16.
