Fire Guts Home, Displaces Family In Aurora

The fire caused roughly $100,000 in damage to the home.

AURORA, IL — An Aurora family was displaced from their home Sunday after a fire ripped through the two-story house. Firefighters arrived at the scene in the 2400 block of Wentworth Ln. at approximately 3:42 p.m. to see flames and smoke engulfing the rear of the home.

A total of 21 firefighters fought the blaze for nearly 45 minutes, according to a press release. No residents or fire crew members were injured during the fire.

The family was assisted with temporary lodging by Aurora Victim Services. The total estimated damage was $100,000.
