Foster Homes Needed for THIS Saturday 12/2/17!

It's getting COLD outside and our partner shelter is over"pup"ulated! They have asked Safe Haven Dog Rescue for our help in bringing dogs to safety. We have the opportunity to bring them to Illinois THIS Saturday 12/2, but are an all foster based rescue and can only bring them to safety if we have committed foster homes.

Vivian- 2 yrs old, Female Black Lab Mix - She is said to be VERY sweet and gets along well with other dogs.

Dynamite- Male Red Wire Hair/Retriever Mix. he is so stressed in the shelter environment that he has signs of mange. He is currently being treated for demodex (the non-contagious mange), but the stress of being in the shelter is not allowing him to get better. They say that he is a wonderful dog that looks horrible and is always overlooked. This is very sad because he is always eager to greet everyone that comes to visit the shelter.

Dallas- 1 yr old female Rott mix, SUPER sweet and most likely pregnant! We don't want her to have her puppies in the shelter where they can be exposed to many illnesses. Experiencing the birth of puppies is very heartwarming!

Whisper- approx. 10 weeks, Female Mixed Breed puppy. She is super sweet and has typical puppy energy, she has been living in a foster home in TN while we seek foster and is hoping to come north to see snow for her first time!

Ace Jordan- approx. 10 weeks, Male, Mixed Breed puppy. He is in the same foster home as Whisper in Tennessee and would be so jealous if she got to come and play in snow and he didn't. He is absolutely adorable and has the most beautiful eyes ever.

Hope- Flat Coat Retriever Mix, super fuzzy! She is approx. 1 yr. old. She is being treated for Sarcoptic mange, and her hair is growing back slowly. She loves attention and is the happiest little girl! She is "HOPE"ing for a chance to travel North this weekend.

Milo is a 5 yr old Male Beagle mix. He is AMAZING!!! He is housetrained, walks nicely on a leash, responds to correction very well and would lie in your lap all day if you let him. He is an extremely sweet dog. His tail is wagging all the time. He loves to ride in the car. After a walk, he likes to play fetch with his rubber squeak ball; and he will bring it back to you to throw again. He will chase a squirrel like most dogs and would not do well in a home with cats. He would be the perfect addition to any (cat free) home.

Blake Shelton – Male, about 4 years old, Shepherd/Hound Mix Said to be the Sweetest Man Alive! Here is what one of the shelter volunteers had to say about him – "Y’all didn’t tell me how SWEET Blake Shelton is! When I got him out of his kennel for the very first time, he gave me a big hug and bunches of kisses before even going for a walk." This boy deserves a chance!

Wishbone – Male, 1-2 years old, Bassett/Lab/Pit mix – He is the most adorable low rider and is said to be super sweet and submissive.

While you foster, Safe Haven Dog Rescue pays for all vetting (done locally in Geneva, South Elgin, Wheaton, Naperville and Elmhurst) and provides you with a crate, collar, leash, food, treats, toys, and more. You provide a safe and WARM place for them to rest their heads until they find a forever family. Our foster homes also have the first option to adopt if you are interested in giving the pup you foster a forever home.

We need to let our shelter partner know ASAP (before Thursday) if we have fosters!
