Gas Leak Causes Visible Flames Near New York, Ohio Streets: Police

AURORA, IL — A gas leak is causing visible flames near New York and Ohio streets, Aurora police said around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

As a result, traffic is being diverted from East New York Street and Ohio Street between Farnsworth Avenue.

Police, who are helping the fire department at the scene, are asking people to avoid the area while Nicor crews work.

Officials said they will provide an update when roadways will reopen.
