​Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon-Cutting at the New Aurora McDonald's

The new Aurora McDonald's, located at 2095 W. Galena Blvd., celebrated their Grand Re-Opening with a Ribbon-Cutting, and cake-cutting on Monday, August 12.
It was a rainy day in Aurora, that did not keep everyone from joining in on the celebration. Ed and Richard Schmitt, Owner-Operators, are proud to bring a new, upscale McDonald's to the Aurora community. The new McDonald's has a new dining room, self-order kiosks, mobile-ordering, table service, and a state-of-the-art kitchen. It is exactly what Aurora McDonald's lovers have been waiting for.
At the ribbon-cutting, the Schmitt brothers welcomed family, friends, colleagues, Mayor Irvin, Deputy Mayor Nelson, Alderman’s Bugg and Franco, and McDonald’s executives.
Deputy Mayor Nelson told the crowd how thrilled they are to have the Schmitt Family in the community and how much he appreciates all that they put into bringing this brand new re-modeled McDonald’s to Aurora. Alderman Bugg spoke on how the Schmitt McDonald’s is a staple on both sides of town for the community. Alderman Bugg also mentioned how wonderful it is that the Schmitt’s give back to the community and local schools on so many different levels.
Ed and Richard Schmitt were the last speakers of the night and they talked about how this has always been a family business. They talked about what an honor it was to work with their dad all these years and how sad it was to lose him two years ago.
This Aurora location has been in the community for 45 years and will be enjoyed for many more years to come.
The Galena Blvd. McDonald’s should be open to the public in just a few short weeks.
