Gun Falls From Waistband When Teen Jumps Fence In Aurora: Cops

Police say the gun fell out while the man was fleeing officers on foot.

AURORA, IL — An Aurora teen is facing felony weapons charges after a gun allegedly fell from his waistband while he jumped a fence during a police pursuit. Humberto Casas, 18, of the 600 block of Liberty St. was charged with four counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the June 11 incident.

Police say they spotted Casas and two other teens "bolt" from a parked car when a marked squad car approached them near the intersection of Ohio St. and Fourth Ave just before 10:30 a.m. Casas then allegedly jumped over a fence, causing a .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun to fall from his waistband.

Law enforcement then called for backup and were able to take Casas and the two other men into custody. Jose Barragan, 19, and Felipe Galindo Jr., 19, both of the first block of North Anderson St., were both charged with obstructing police.
