'Heavy Fire' Breaks Out At New York Street Restaurant: Aurora FD
At the time of the fire, around 4:40 a.m. Monday, the building was empty and there were no injuries reported to civilians or firefighters.

AURORA, IL — A restaurant in the 1500 block of East New York Street caught fire early Monday morning, according to the Aurora Fire Department.
Fire crews arrived at the scene of the structure fire around 4:40 a.m. after bystanders reported the incident and Aurora police found flames burning through the roof. The alarm was upgraded to a second level, bringing a total of 24 firefighters to the fire, officials said.
It took crews about an hour to bring the "heavy fire" under control using multiple hand lines, officials said. Firefighters remained at the restaurant for another hour to search for and extinguish any hot spots.

At the time of the fire, the building was unoccupied, and no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters, according to fire department officials.
East- and westbound traffic on New York Street, between Farnsworth Avenue and Vaughn Road, was closed between about 5:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. while crews attended to the incident, according to police.

The building was deemed uninhabitable. The cause of the fire remains investigation.
