K-9 Tracks Down Armed Man Hiding In Bushes In Aurora: Cops
Police say the K-9 found the armed suspect, hiding in some bushes in a backyard.

AURORA, IL — Police in Aurora were able to track down and apprehend an armed suspect Wednesday with the help of a loyal on-duty K-9 named Beny. Police say Luis E. Rodriguez, 22, who was on parole, was caught with a 9 mm handgun on him after a foot chase that led police and Beny through several yards to a backyard in the 500 block of Benton.
According to police, the pursuit started around 2 a.m. when an officer saw a Hyundai Elantra roll through a stop sign near the intersection of New York and Spencer. The driver reportedly fled in the car after the officer attempted to pull him over.
The Hyundai then allegedly hit a parked pickup truck near the intersection of Benton and Anderson Rodriguez got out and fled on foot, police say.

Beny and his handler were brought in to pursue Rodriguez after a perimeter was set up, according to police. Shortly after, Beny reportedly tr acked down Rodriguez, who was allegedly hiding in some bushes.
Rodriguez has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and parolee and unlawful possession of a firearm by a gang member. He's currently being held in the Kane County Jail on $250,000 bail.
