Kane County State's Attorney Opens Complaint Line For Primary Election

Anyone who experiences problems and irregularities or witnesses possible illegal activity can call the election complaint line March 17.

AURORA, IL — Voting is underway for the primary election. As locals visit their polling centers, they're encouraged to contact the Kane County State's Attorney's Office if they observe or experience any problems or irregularities.

Anyone who experiences problems and irregularities or witnesses possible illegal activity — including electioneering, illegally placed campaign signs or denial of voting rights — at any of the voting precincts in Kane County can call the hotline at 630-208-5328.

The complaint line will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. — the same timeframe polls will be open — on Election Day. Officials noted the phone number should not be used for questions regarding polling times and places.

Assistant state's attorneys will take complaints about potential violations of Illinois election laws and are "prepared to ensure compliance."

"Every voter in Kane County has the right to cast their ballot with confidence in the integrity of our electoral system," State's Attorney Jamie Mosser said in a statement. "It is the privilege of my office to work with law enforcement partners to ensure that voters can exercise their right to vote free of unlawful intimidation or impediment. I encourage anyone who finds their voting protections subject to undue interference, or who witnesses possible illegal election activity, to please contact the number provided."
