Lane Closures To Start On Route 25, From Aurora To Montgomery
Crews will be patching and resurfacing the roadway stretching from Hazel Avenue in Aurora to River Bend Road in Montgomery.
AURORA, IL — A stretch of Route 25, from Aurora to Montgomery, will undergo patching and resurfacing, requiring intermittent daytime lane closures starting Monday, officials at the Illinois Department of Transportation announced.
The portion of Route 25 — also referred to as Broadway and River Road — under construction will span from Hazel Avenue in Aurora to River Bend Road in Montgomery. Construction is expected to be completed in July, officials said.
The $1 million project will also include constructing new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps and installing centerline milled rumble strips. While work is underway, access to residences and businesses within the work zone will remain.

Drivers should expect delays and should allow extra time for their trips. Officials are also urging drivers to pay close attention to flaggers and signs throughout work zones, follow the speed limit and watch out for workers and equipment.
The upcoming project is part of IDOT's plan to improve more than 3,500 miles of highway and 9 million square feet of bridge deck as part of the Rebuild Illinois capital program.
