Lead Safety Awareness Month!
Kane County Healthy Places Coalition has teamed up with the Ace Hardware's in Aurora to help inform our community about lead safety!

National Lead Poisoning Awareness week is October 22nd-28th, 2017, however during the month of October the Kane County Healthy Places Coalition has teamed up with the Ace Hardware’s in Aurora to help inform our community about lead safety! Check out the Ace Hardware on Galena Blvd. or the one on Lake St. to view the lead display if you are painting or renovating your home!
Did you know that 49% of the housing in Kane County was built before 1978? This was before the lead paint law went into effect, which means that lead poisoning could be a risk in your home. If you have any peeling paint or plan to start a home renovation project before the holidays, make sure you take the right steps to ensure your family’s health and safety!
