Man Assaulted Teen 2 Days After He Got Out Of Prison: Aurora PD
Chicago resident Joseph Baker, 38, was visiting an Aurora acquaintance Aug. 21 when police said he sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman.

AURORA, IL — A 38-year-old convicted child sex offender is accused of sexually assaulting a young woman in Aurora two days after he was released from prison, Aurora police officials said.
Aurora police officers responded to an Aurora hospital Aug. 21 for a report of sexual assault, where they learned an 18-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted by Joseph Baker, of the 4200 block of West Carroll Avenue in Chicago, police said in a news release. Baker was visiting Aurora at the time, according to police.
After sexually assaulting the woman, Baker, who was an acquaintance of the woman's family, continued to make sexual advances throughout the evening, according to Aurora police.

Baker was charged with three Class X felony counts of criminal sexual assault and one Class 1 felony count of sexual assault for this summer's crime. The Kane County State's Attorney's Office approved the charges as a result of prior convictions, Aurora police said.

The Chicago man was taken into custody in Chicago with assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force without incident Nov. 9, according to police.
Baker was convicted of criminal sexual assault in August 2011. At the time of the crime, the victim was 14 and Baker was 26. He was convicted again in 2017 for violating the sex offender registry, according to Illinois State Police.
