Man Shot On Trail Off River Street In Aurora: Police
The preliminary investigation does not indicate an ongoing threat to the community, police said.

AURORA, IL — A man was shot early Monday morning on Gilman Trail in Aurora, police said.
The Aurora Police Department received a report at about 3:24 a.m. of shots fired near River Street and Sard Avenue. The shooting was also picked up on ShotSpotter.
On the trail, officers found a man who had been shot in the lower body. Aurora Fire Department paramedics took him to a local hospital before he was transferred to another facility, where he remained in critical but stable condition as of Monday afternoon, police said.

The department's investigations bureau is investigating the circumstances of the shooting. Based on the preliminary investigation, there is "no indication of an ongoing threat to the broader community," officials said.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the department at 630-256-5500. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Aurora Area Crime Stoppers online or at 630-892-1000. The program offers cash rewards of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of a felony offender or the capture of a felony fugitive.
