Murder Charges For Teen After Deadly Argument In Aurora: Cops
The teen faces felony murder charges in connection with the Feb.8 shooting.

AURORA, IL — A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder in connection with a shooting that claimed the life of a 20-year-old Aurora man on Feb. 8. The shooting took place in the 400 block of Sherman Avenue and left John H. Smith, 20, of the 600 block of Sumner Avenue, dead.
Police say they first learned of the shooting just before midnight. When they got to the scene, police say they found Smith with a gunshot wound in his chest. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, the teen shot Smith during an argument. Police are still investigating the shooting. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Aurora Police Department at 630-256-5500.
