Naperville Teen Charged With Fleeing Aurora Cops In Stolen Car

Trensae C. Ware, 18, of Naperville, is accused of sending police on a high-speed chase through Aurora in a car stolen from Downers Grove.

AURORA, IL — A 18-year-old Naperville man was arrested after he allegedly led Aurora Police on a high speed chase 80 mph in a stolen vehicle Thursday. Trensae C. Ware, of the 500 block of Kiowa Dr., was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and leaving the scene of an injury crash after he struck a traffic signal and attempted to flee on foot, police say.

According to police, officers spotted a 2008 Honda Odyssey driving erratically as it headed eastbound on Benton St. in downtown Aurora. Police say they tried to pull over the vehicle, but the Ware allegedly fled and accelerated up to 80 mph as he headed south on Hill Ave.

Police say Ware lost control of the car and struck a traffic signal at the intersection of Hill Ave. and Montgomery. Officers caught up to Ware shortly after he attempted to flee on foot.

Three females, ages 17, 16, and 14, who were in the vehicle with Ware, were taken to nearby hospitals. Police say two of the girls were released, but the 14-year-old was transferred to another hospital for additional care.

Ware is currently being held on $20,000 in the Kane County Jail.
