Nearly All Injured Aurora Cops Home After Deadly Shooting

"We are grateful to report that all but one of our officers have been released to their families where they can begin the healing process."

AURORA, IL -- Four of the five police officers who were shot in Friday's horrific mass shooting at Henry Pratt Manufacturing have returned home from the hospital. Police officials said one officer, who suffered an injury to a "lower extremity," was in good condition as of Sunday afternoon. They were "hopeful" that he would also be released soon to "begin the healing process" of the physical and emotional wounds left by the deadly shooting.

"We are grateful to report that all but one of our officers have been released to their families where they can begin the healing process," Aurora PD wrote in a Facebook post.

The police department is also offering support services to employees who were impacted by the shooting, including those who responded and those who worked tirelessly throughout the weekend. "Immediate care and counseling services [were] being provided over this weekend, with organized debriefings scheduled later this week," officials wrote.
