
AURORA, IL — A vacant home caught fire early Sunday morning, but the cause is still under investigation.
Aurora Fire Department Lt. Jim Rhodes said crews were called to a structure fire in the 1500 block of Hoyt Avenue at around 1:55 a.m. It is unknown who called 911.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a one-story single family ranch-style home with heavy fire showing from an attached garage. It took firefighters just under 2 hours to fully extinguish the blaze.

The home was vacant at the time of the fire and there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The estimated total dollar loss is $40,000 and the house was deemed uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
