'Numerous' Child Porn Photos, Videos Found At Home Of Man, 70: Cops
The North Aurora man was charged with 14 counts of reproduction of child pornography and possession of child pornography, officials said.

AURORA, IL — A cyber tip led Kane County detectives to find "numerous" photographs and videos containing child pornography in a 70-year-old man's North Aurora house, officials said Thursday.
Kane County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Team Detectives executed a search warrant on a residence in the 200 block of Larchwood Lane, where they found the pornography, officials said. Richard E. Suddoth, of the 200 block of Larchwood Lane, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with 14 felony counts, including seven of reproduction of child pornography and seven of possession of child pornography.
The victim was under the age of 13, according to officials at the Kane County Sheriff's Office.

"Proactive investigations like the arrest of Suddoth and supporting immediate follow-up investigations on complaints of crimes against children are essential to safeguarding our youth and bringing these egregious offenders to swift justice," Sheriff Ron Hain said in a statement.
The 70-year-old North Aurora man's arrest is part of the Kane County Sheriff's Office's efforts since 2019 to make child pornography investigations a top priority. This effort is made "knowing that national statistics show that over ninety percent of those who possess and disseminate the pornography also physically offend against children at some point," officials said.

To help with investigations, Hain previously assigned a detective to the State's Attorney's Child Advocacy Center, where staffs investigate reports of "all sexual assaults and abuse against children."
